Solothurn Film Festival

Each year at the Solothurn Film Festival, the “Rencontre” program pays tribute to a personality of Swiss cinema and presents a selection of their works. This year, for the first time, they devoted a retrospective to animation cinema, honoring the three founders of the Geneva-based Studio GDS, Claude Luyet, Georges Schwizgebel, and Daniel Suter. Their creations delve into restless dreams, human nature, and unforeseen twists and turns — essentially, they explore the essence of life. Since its inception in 1971, GDS has embodied a collective and individual spirit, serving as a creative community driven by a preference for pragmatism.
