Synopsis
It was summertime on Lake Geneva. Alice was bored. One day by chance, she met Zack in the middle of a sunflower field. Now the summer is over, and before dying, the faded sunflowers tell us the story of this invisible love.
About the director
Charlotte Muller is a cinematographer and director based in Geneva and Brussels. Her work as a cinematographer includes A SEASON IN HELL (2023),À LA RETRAITE (2020) and THE DRAGON WITH TWO HEADS (2019). As a filmmaker, she directed the short film NO MAN’S LAND (2019), selected for IDFA, and most recently ALICE AND THE SUNFLOWERS (2022).
Théo Degen made his first short film in 2015, surrounded by non-professional children actors and joined INSAS the same year. He strives to tell these real characters through imaginary stories sometimes mixing reality and fantasy. His film THE ISLAND OF DREAMS (2019) is shot with children from the island of Vulcano in Sicily. His short film L’ENFANT SALAMANDRE (2021) was selected at Namur FF. ALICE AND THE SUNFLOWERS (2022) is his most recent work.
