LOVE ON THE BRAMBLE PATH

Synopsis

From the vast distances and horizons between France and Chile, to the smallest perimeter around home. Crossing films, those who visit, those who care. In Desert Island, Roger does not dig the earth alone. A tender yet fantastical transposition of the Robinson Crusoe myth, the island offers shelter to the fragility of those who pass through it. In Love on the Bramble Path, each new sense of wonder becomes an act of resistance. In The Bitches, each friend helps a broken heart: searching for the story, translating the words, singing Emily Dickinson, joyfully mending the dress of sorrow.

The work of Sophie Roger remains anchored to her most familiar territory, a corner of the Pays de Caux, to the north of her native Havre, where she lives and works in the field, not far from the cliff. From this intimate territory, her work continues to question the other side, her relationship with others, whoever they may be: friends, neighbours, people far away, people from the past, fictional characters, etc.
