At the end of the 19th century, in a Sicilian countryside village, the young Pina holds the power to regenerate the land. With each harvest, the village is prey to shameless mafia looting. Pina’s encounter with the mafia chief will plunge the hamlet into an era of starvation, endangering the destiny of the whole country.

À la fin du 19e siècle, dans un village reculé de la campagne sicilienne, Pina, la fille de la boulangère, détient le pouvoir de régénérer la terre. À chaque récolte, le village est en proie au pillage de mafieux sans vergogne. La rencontre de Pina avec le chef des bandits plongera le hameau dans une ère de famine, jusqu’à faire basculer le destin du pays tout entier.
