Synopsis

The movement of the archive starkly highlights the static nature of photographic images. The DIAMANG photographic archive is housed at the Nogueira da Silva Museum in Braga, Portugal. The archive, comprising some 20,000 photographs, chronicles the expansion of DIAMANG, a diamond mining company in Angola, from colonialist and imperialist Portugal in the 1950s and 1960s.
